A 30-year-old San Francisco man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly stabbed another man in a Lake Tahoe hotel room Saturday morning, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Christopher Calder was arrested on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon with bail set at $25,000. On Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 7:40 a.m., Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a hotel room at a Stateline casino for a report of a stabbing, said Sgt. Pat Brooks
Deputies arrived and contacted the 29-year-old victim who said he had been stabbed in the abdomen by Calder, said Brooks.
According to the arrest report, the room was being occupied by four adults and one juvenile. The altercation occurred, when the victim and his girlfriend were sleeping in the room.
Calder, his daughter and his friend returned to the room and caused a disturbance while the victim and his friend tried to sleep. An argument ensued, which quickly turned to an altercation between the victim and Calder, according to the arrest report.
Calder armed himself with a knife and pushed the victim into the hallway. The victim attempted to re-enter the room and Calder stabbed him in the abdomen with the knife.
The victim was taken to Renown Hospital for his injuries.
